THE MERVYN DOERR MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
is to recognize outstanding dedication and musicianship among graduating high school students in the Stratford area, and to honor the memory of Mervyn Doerr.

The award will be given at the discretion of the executive, and may not be awarded each year.  If awarded, the recipient will be a recent high school graduate who has shown personal commitment to instrumental music and dedication to wind ensemble music in the Stratford area. The scholarship will be presented by the Stratford Concert Band executive.

Monies will be awarded upon presentation of proof of enrolment. The scholarship must be used within two years.

We would like to acknowledge that we practice and perform on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) and Ojibway/Chippewa peoples.

This territory is governed by two treaties. The first is the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant of 1701, made between the Anishinaabe and the Haudenosaunee Confederacy. The second is the Huron Tract Treaty of 1827, an agreement made by eighteen Anishinaabek Chiefs and the Canada Company.

We are thankful to use this land to build community and celebrate with music.
