I first played with the Royal Canadian Legion band in the fall of 1976. In 1978, about a week after playing the Kiwanis Music Festival, Dayna was born and I became a member of the audience occasionally hiring a babysitter to be able to play or rehearse. I have been a devoted regular since the 1990’s. I was band secretary for about 10 years. I am a retired Jack of Many Trades - including computer operations and programming, supply postal worker, YMCA swimming instructor, supply school secretary, and 15 years at SGH in various positions including Admin Support/Registration Clerk. For my favorite piece there are way too many to choose from but I prefer classic concert band music to play or listen. My favorite march is Walking Frog. I love knitting, cooking and gardening. I started playing clarinet in 7th grade (1962) because all my friends were in band and I used to watch the school band including 8th grader Dave Manning rehearse until I was good enough to join a year later. Dave and I were in high school band together and will be married 50 years this coming September.
