Responsibilities of the Director
The Director will interview membership candidates, choose works for performances, conduct rehearsals and performances, and make
artistic decisions in consultation with the Executive. The Director may appoint an Assistant Director. The appointment must meet the approval of the
Executive.
The Director is also expected to attend Concert Band Executive meetings and the Annual General Meeting, and give reports when
needed.
The Executive of the Stratford Concert Band will assist the Director by:
• Keeping Band members informed about rehearsals
and performances
• Helping to arrange performances
• Completing other administrative tasks as needed
Performances include, but are not limited to:
• Three formal concerts per year
• Summer Concert Series - the Stratford Concert
Band presents a concert every
Wednesday evening during July and
August (weekly rehearsals cease during the series)
• Music Festivals (Stratford Kiwanis, etc.)
• Performances at Stratford Legion functions and
other military services
(e.g. Legion Remembrance Day Church
Service, Remembrance Day at the Cenotaph, Cemetery Decoration)
• Performances at local retirement homes
• Community performances, including Canada Day
Parade
Remuneration is $500.00 per month.

The Stratford Concert Band is a dynamic Community Concert Band, dedicated to performing a varied repertoire at a high standard. The Band rehearses in
Stratford every Wednesday evening from 7:30 to 9:45 p.m.
